VLCD # 20

Well today I got below 250! I lost .8lbs which put me at a total of 21.6lbs lost in 19 days. Yipee! So I currently weigh 249.8 yahoo! I feel really really good. I had a few people on facebook today contact me today and ream me for giving any attention to HCG. They feel that strict diet and exercise are the ONLY correct ways to lose weight. Ugh, drives me nuts when people get mad at you when they haven't even taken the time to research it for themselves. Oh well.

VLCD # 19

Today was an awesome day. I lost almost 2 lbs today, which put me at a 20.8 lb loss! I'm now at 250.6lbs. My goal is to be under 250 by tomorrow morning. I started in the 270's and will soon be in the 240's, i'm so excited! The last few days have been easy peasy. No real hunger to speak of. My cravings and less frequent and getting weaker by the day, yahoo! I took a detox bath the other night because I kept losing just .2lbs day after day. It seems to have helped. I got some raw extra virgin coconut oil the other day and used it to cook my chicken yesterday and make a vinegarette. It was awesome! Today I made some chocolate delight, just 1 TBS, and threw in 5 chopped mac nuts. It was pretty good. I'll have to keep playing with the recipe until I can figure out the exact amounts of each ingredient. I'm hoping the treat I made won't negatively effect my weight tomorrow. I can still hardly believe I'm already down over 20 pounds! My clothes fit totally differently, no more blaming tightness on the poor dryer. =)

VLCD # 17

Well the weight loss has most definitely slowed down. To date I'm 18.6 lbs lighter than when I started. I'm looking forward to hitting the 20 lb milestone. I've had some tough days lately. I haven't really been "hungry" but I'm really craving FOOD!! I want bread, I want sweets, pasta, basically anything other than what I've been eating. I promised myself I'd do this for the full 6 weeks and I intend to follow through with that promise. I ordered some coconut oil, stevia drops, and some mac nuts. I can hardly wait for the 6 weeks to be over so I can make some chocolate delight. =)

VLCD# 8

I'm super tired today. I was up till 3:30am with the dog. He had some bathroom "issues" and he kept having to go outside. Ugh!! Anyway, got up and lost another 1.2 lbs for a total loss of 12.4 lbs in just 7 days on the vlcd!! I also measured and I lost 12 inches. Nice!! Yesterday I had pretty much ZERO appetite, which was a nice switch from constantly feeling mild hunger. I'm hoping to have another day like yesterday. =)

VLCD #4

Yesterday was hard for me. I was super cranky, pretty hungry and just overall grumpy. I think TOM had a lot to do with it though. That should be completely done and overwith within a couple more days. I ate great yesterday, despite wanting to cheat really really REALLY bad. I got on the scale this morning and dropped another 1.4lbs for a total weight loss of 6lbs. Yay!

VLCD #3

I did really good yesterday. Our family went to a birthday party and yet again I had to say no to more cake, UGH! And these were those really huge Costco cupcakes. I instead brought a water bottle and a baggie of apple slices, cucumber slices, and celery sticks. I slowly munched on those while everyone else snacked on cookies and cupcakes. For lunch I had just some boiled chicken with some steak seasoning on it. For dinner I had more chicken with broccoli and for dessert I had another apple. I drank about 3L of water w/ lemon in it. I woke up this morning and lost another 1.2 lbs. That's a total of 4.6 lbs lost. =) I've been sleeping really deeply the last few nights. I'm not sure if that has anything to do with the drops and or diet, but either way it's a nice change. I usually have very restless fitful sleep.

I'm anxiously awaiting tomorrow's weigh in.

VLCD #2

I followed the diet to a T yesterday, despite it being my son's 8th birthday. I didn't have any of the cake or ice cream. Oh that cake smelled so good! BUT I didn't cheat so that made me feel really good. I ended up drinking an entire gallon of water yesterday, woohoo! I got on the scale this morning and dropped 3.4 lbs. So my new weight is 268.0
I am looking forward to the day that I'm under the 200lb mark. I haven't been there for over 8 years. I did get pretty hungry around dinner time yesterday and I had to force myself to calm down and meditate on what my goal was. I know the 1st several days can be tuff. I survived yesterday, so now I'm that much stronger. =)

I have another birthday party to go to today, ugh!! I'll be bringing my water and a baggie of cucumbers and celery to hold me over. I'm excited to get on the scale tomorrow and see how much more I've lost.

VLCD day #1

So I got a new scale yesterday at Costco. It measures by .2 of a lb. This one is quite a bit more accurate than the one I was previously using. I got on the scale this morning after my two loading days and was 271.4 lbs, YIKES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I also did all my measurements. I figure I'll weigh in daily and take measurements weekly. I got up at 7am and took my drops and drank 3 cups of water. It's a little after 10am and I'm just starting to feel a little bit hungry. I think I'll eat an apple. Then at lunch time I'll have some chicken and vegetables. Dinner I plan to have fish and vegetables and for dessert tonight if I'm hungry I'll have a second apple.

I'm sooo sick of being fat!! I'm tired of trying and trying to lose weight with little or no success. I'm praying that this diet works and I'll be able to shed this weight once and for all. My ultimate goal weight for my height is 140lbs. So I pretty much have to lose half of my body weight. I'm trying not to let that discourage me. If I don't do something today, then a month or two or a year from now I'll look back and realize I'm still the same as I was today. I need to stop being scared of failure and instead be excited for my coming successes. Easier said than done...but i'll try my best.

Load Day #2

So I'm doing crappy on loading today. I do not have the appetite and eating anything in general makes me feel slightly sick. Part of it is definitely from the heat. I never have much of an appetite when it gets really hot. Esp since the new house we just bought doesn't have air conditioning, HELP!!! =)

So far today I've eaten 2 slices of toast w/ 1/2 a sliced avocado on each piece. I drank a large glass of whole milk a little while later. For lunch I went to McDonalds and ordered a 1/4 pounder w/ cheese meal and a large chocolate milkshake. I drank 1/2 the shake, ate 1/2 the burger and didn't touch the fries. I felt like I was going to throw it all up. =(

It's almost 7pm and I haven't eaten anything since lunch. I have a feeling that I'm not properly loading up on fat like is highly recommended. ugh! I have to go to the store this evening to get some chicken and salad fixings.....maybe while I'm there I'll grab a box of donuts or something. I have to admit it's hard for my brain to wrap around the idea of loading up for 2 days on highly fattening foods.

I'm excited to start my first Very Low Calorie Diet (VLCD) tomorrow! I'm soooo ready to shed the weight once and for all.

Load Day #1

Well I just started the HCG protocol diet and I wanted a way to keep track of my progress, feelings, etc. Today is the very 1st day of the diet. You're supposed to "load" up on fattening foods for two days while taking the HCG drops under your tongue. After two days you then switch to just 500 calories a day from lean meat, fruit, vegetables. You continue the drops and the 500 calories for 43 days, then you quit the drops and start eating 1600-2000 calories a day. You continue doing that for 6 weeks and can then start again on the drops. I've been reading about this diet for a few days now and it seems like people have an amazing amount of success.

As of today I weigh 264lbs. I highly suspect by the end of the two load days I'll have put on at least a few more lbs.

Here are my current stats:

5'8"
30 yrs old
264 lbs

I plan on taking my measurements in a bit.

I'm a mom of 3 kids and have been married for 8 years. I have been heavy since I was in 3rd grade. I was always just a little bit pudgy...not really fat. After high school I really started packing on the lbs. I don't know exactly what weight I was because I didn't own a scale. I couldn't buy jeans in regular dept stores and instead started buying mens jeans. I refused to buy clothes from a plus sized store. Once I hit my peak I got hired at The Home Depot. I worked in the flooring dept. I was shocked at how much physical exercise I got while working there. I started to slim down within just a few short weeks. Soon after that I severly twisted my ankle on some stairs and had to use crutches for several weeks. I couldn't drive, so going to fast food joints stopped completely. Once my foot had healed I had dropped another 25lbs. It was then that I deceided to go to the extreame. I wouldn't eat anything for days, I drank about a gallon of water a day and worked out for a minumum of 2 hrs a day. Within a few months I had gotten down to 159lbs. I slowly started eating more normal and cutting back on the exercise. I was able to maintain my weight easily for 3 years. Once I became pregnant everything changed. I gained 60 lbs with my first pregnancy, 25 more with my second, and another 30lbs with my 3rd.

I joined a gym, hired a personal trainer and did exactly what he told me to do for 3 solid months. I ate about 1500 calories a day and only drank water for my beverages. I lost about 8 lbs. I was soooo discouraged!!! How can a girl that's that close to 300lbs not lose more weight than that?!?!

The next year we moved to another town. I joined that gym and started attending water classes. I took water aerobics, water cardio, and water kickboxing. Each class was 60 minues. In addition to taking 8 classes a week, I also swam laps in the pool for a couple hrs total each week. I kept my calories at 1500 only eating meat, vegetables, fruit, and whole grains. After 4 months, I lost about 12 lbs. Again I felt completely defeted. Within a couple weeks of quitting the gym I gained back everything I lost.

I am at a loss as to why I am having such a hard time losing weight. We eat out about twice a month. I drink 1-2 sodas a month. I make fresh food that's mostly healthy because I want my children to grow up with good eating habits.

I am so excited to see if this diet works for me. I have yet to come across someone who has done the diet the way it is written and not seen phenominal success.
